I don't know about you guys but I find one of the best things to do is lie down with a good book and read away. I have just finished another book from my favorite author, Philip K. Dick, and the title was "Radio Free Albemuth". The book Is about a satellite called VALIS contacting the main character and helps him to try and liberate the government. I'm not going to go into detail because that would ruin the book . Feel free to post any good books you have read recently, I always need new reading material and the library needs business

Yay! Time to plug my favorite author!
Robert J. Sawyer. Seriously, if you can find ANYTHING by him, read it.
Normally even a really good author has books that are kinda meh, but I have read almost every novel written by him, and most of his short stories, and have yet to be disappointed.
His stories have great plots, interesting characters, but best of all they make you think without realizing it. His stories are big "what ifs", and "what might happens". He puts a ton of research into his books too, so the realism is great.
This is true SCIENCE fiction, comparable to the greats like Asimov and Arthur C. Clark!
And to make it even greater, he's Canadian and sets all his books in Canada!
Second to him my next favorite author is Anne McCaffrey. I'm not too fond of her dragon books, but I LOVED her Brain Ship series, and her Crystal Singer series.
I'm a sucker for books that put a twist on an otherwise normal life, and just let the characters react, and a bigger sucker for twists that are science fiction in nature!

Shiny!
You know, I was here 2 years before I found out that there was a "real" library over in the arts and culture center (apparently the AC Hunter library).
I like reading at the bus stop, so I will look into it!

For serious geekiness and just fascinating reading I like Neal Stephenson, the Cryptonimicon and his Baroque Cycle. The books are all pretty long but he's just such an interesting writer you don't mind at all. I got 3/4 of the way through Cryptonimicon before I really knew what the book was about but that didn't bother at all cause I was so sucked into it.
Highly recomended!!!!!

Shouts going out to Goeroge Orwell for Animal Farm. I picked up last night (not just because its school text, but I also heard it was a good book) and couldn't put it down. I got half way through and then realized I had school 6 hours later and had to put it down. Right now im waiting on 1984 to come in from chapters. So those of you who have not yet read this book, I highly advise it.

^ 1984 is one of my favourite novels. A most excellent read. I have to recommend Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, or anything else by him. It is a fairly satirical and cynical read, but that is mixed in with a good bit of humour and an interesting story. Definitely worth checking out.
