I'm not sure if I'm a geek... I think that joining will give me an opportunity to unlock my inner geek, get in touch with my geekier side.... If there are any clear criteria for being a geek I think they should be posted, to help confused individuals like myself.
Can anybody help?

Muahahahaha!! ;D geek (gk) noun 1. A person who is fascinated by obscure or very specific areas of knowledge and imagination From the "About Us" page: "Our mission is to provide a place for people to explore alternative forms of entertainment. We hope that this society will be a place for people who's interests have had them labeled with words like nerd, dork, weird, strange, eccentric, and geek to congregate and share these interests, whether they be cinematic, technological, game-based, or literary. The society is open to anyone who is interested, and we are always looking for new people with new interests to share."

I'd like to be a member, and I'm even a MUN student.
I like board games and LAN parties especially.
Other possibilities include attempting to elect various flora to executive positions.
Oh, and some of you might know me as one of the co-creators and regular organizers of the awesome annual tradition known as OLAN. (I missed it this year. Stupid viral infection.)
That's Outdoor Local Area Network, by the way...

I want to join so I won't be known as that kid who was uncool and did not join the Geek Society. That, and I need to get out more.

A geek society and I'm just finding out about it now!!?
I've been running a board gaming group this semester because I couldn't find fellow geeks! All that time wasted... *snicker* yeah right.
If you guys don't mind having a physics graduate student with a disproportional liking to board games (and so many other geeky activities) count me in!
